This is the first time that I can remember feeling like a kid, waiting for the first snowfall that was expected today. Driving in poor weather ranks up there on my list of least favorite things to do. So snow storms have never really impressed me much.
So I have to admit. I was off today. I didn’t need to go anywhere. My daughter was finally over an 8 day long fever (ugh!), and we were expecting our first snow storm. I couldn’t wait. I was so excited that I felt like I would burst when I looked out the window this morning and saw the snow falling. We have had unbelievable winds to go along with it. So even though it has snowed most of the day, we can still see the grass.
That didn’t stop us. As soon as my daughter got home from school (her first day back after missing 5 days!), she was bubbling with excitement about dragging out her snow suit. I shared her enthusiasm and was so excited to see her feeling like herself again that we dropped everything and started getting dressed!
Although there really wasn’t much snow to be had, that didn’t stop us. We made snow angels, threw snowballs, slid down the snowy sliding board and even road bikes!
My little guy is sort of in between the age where he can really enjoy the snow. We had him bundled up for the weather, but he wasn’t down and cruising around in the snow. We trekked around the yard in his stroller, then he and I rocked in the chairs on the porch while the girls played. He sat with me content for at least a half an hour, so he must have been pretty happy.

All in all, we were only out for about 1 hour (just a little longer than it took me to get them all dressed for our outdoor adventure!). Nonetheless, we had a great time. I hope we wake up to a winter wonderland tomorrow!
Here’s wishing for a white Christmas (and a chance to take my good camera out in the snow tomorrow)!

Looks like everyone had a grand time. Nothing like some snow to get you in the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas to all. Jerry
Awwwwww……look at those happy faces!
Well worth the hour to get ‘em dressed!
Well done!
And Happy Christmas to you and yours!
