You are My Rock

Well, we agreed not to spend any money on each other for Valentine’s Day. Somewhere along the way I couldn’t help myself. I found two things I really wanted for my hubby for the Day of Love. So I bought/made them.

The first is re-purposed nature. This is a very small rock that I wrote on. We have a wooden bowl that we put our memories in, a rock from Alaska, shells from our beach vacations, etc… I expect this will end up there. Who knows, it may end up in the driveway.

DSC_0032You just never know what to expect from men. My hubby just informed me tonight he will be playing soccer with his buddies on Valentine’s Day! Ugh! Obviously he doesn’t know I have a secret family date planned. Obviously he doesn’t know I got him a rock for Valentine’s Day. Maybe the rock will end up through the window when I hurl it him! Thank GOD it’s small.

The second item is a bottle of beer. Beer? What? A single beer? Yep. I found this at the grocery store. They were selling them in singles. Never saw that before. Of course, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been in the liquor isle. I was on my way back to produce for red peppers when I saw this end cap with beer singles (those two words just go together somehow, tee he he!).DSC_0033

I thought, well that’s a really inexpensive, yet somehow thoughtful gift for my guy. He loves beer and rarely drinks it. As a fireman, he is sort of a third-shifter. He likes trying new beers. Then I thought of the catchy phrase, “Drunk on Your Love.” SOLD!

At any rate, even though he is being a nincompoop and plans to play soccer with his friends, I will give him my gifts and be happy to have him, for all the other moments he has made me joyful and fulfilled.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

P.S. Total project cost $2.87

Cute ideas! Saw the pic of your rock at Thurs Fav Things and had to check it out. Reminded me of a rock I found one time just laying on the ground. One side said “God is my rock” the other had a verse of scripture. Needed the reminder at the time. Already have a nice dinner planned for my honey, the beer will be I nice addition for him.

Let’s see. Do you let him drink it before you throw the rock at him or do you just hit him with the beer bottle. Just kidding. Happy Valentines Day !!!

Oh. OH. :-/ Breathe in, breathe out–what nicer prezzie to give him than a special prezzie after the soccer game.
HOW you deliver the prezzies……entirely up to you! LOLOL

Your gifts are thoughtful. Hubby will be home soon to collect and then you can celebrate. Sorry your family surprise plan was foiled though… I hope it’s good on a raincheck date. :)
